About Lauren Capozzi, PhD/MD Student, CSEP-Certified Exercise Physiologist

054a2102With over 10 years of experience in the fitness industry, and a strong academic and clinical focus on health behaviour adoption and adherence, Lauren offers practical evidence-based health and wellness expertise for chronic disease prevention and management.

Lauren, along with Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed, co-founded Thrive Health Services, a health behaviour change consulting business with the goal of bringing relevant wellness information and strategies to health and fitness professionals and corporations. Lauren is an engaging and motivational speaker, providing evidence-based lectures to health care professionals, researchers, and patients, and has been invited to speak at leadership and student engagement conferences, inspiring the next generation of health innovators. Along with Dr. Culos-Reed, Lauren spearheaded the first student-run fitness centre for cancer survivors, the Thrive Centre, and due to this work, was honoured as one of Calgary’s class of 2015 Top 40 Under 40 by Avenue Calgary.

Lauren facilitates dynamic indoor cycling classes at One Cycle Spin Studio as well as group exercise and education classes for cancer survivors at Wellspring Calgary. She is known for her contagious energy and inspires her participants to take control of their health, wellness and happiness through activity. Her pursuit is to unlock the potential in each individual she works with, teaching the skills to lead an active, healthier life.
